Details by jon powell

Creating something special takes time.

Each unique hand drawn illustration, takes between 100-200 hours to complete. A process that takes two months from start to finish. I wanted to start a process that would require me to return day after day.

I use a series of photos to plot out where the buildings, and landscape should go. Then I draw in a fineliner 0.1 ink pen. I use Staedtler pens, as they seem to work well with the detail I am creating.

I will wear a magnifying lens cap, to be able to draw the smallest details, and often use Google street view to go directly up to a building to see the detail, that may not be in the photo.

The process is hard on the eyes and on average around 4 hours maximum is all I can take at one time.

Only 250 signed and numbered prints are ever produced worldwide. With sales so far from New York, UK, Holland, and Australia, the response has been fantastic.
